Other interesting factoids. The Stroop test activates a part of the brain called the anterior cingulate (ACC). This region is activated when you have to inhibit a particular response, during physical pain, and under the tension of social strain/separation. So you should do worse on this task if you just broke up with your boyfriend because the brain region activated (the back of the ACC, IIRC) will inhibit the front of it which is what you need to do this task.
